Q - What is worse than an ear infection?
A - 4 in 7 months.
Q - And whats worse than that?
A - When the oral antibiotics don't clear them up anymore, they just make you sick and lose your appetite.
Q - And worse than that?
A - A shot of antibiotics.
Q - And worse than that?
A - Three shots.
Q - And worse, but maybe better?
A - Likely getting ear tubes.
Q - Change of subject, sort of. How do you know its a really bad cold/flu season?
A - When the drug store is out of/almost out of every variety of the Quil (and similar things), Airborn, nasal spray, and tissues with lotion.
Yeah so, after puking up the drugs a few times, and still playin grab the ear, we brought her back in tonight (I am so sick of being puked on). Ear is still pussy, drugs don't do a darn thing but make her sick (which seriously, on top of iron and GERD is no fun), so shot got a shot, goes back for two more, and we will most likely get a referral for SURGERY. My baby might get cut! (but oh to give up the ear infections....)
Oh, and one other thing... I thought breastfeeding was suposed to mean no ear infections. I was robbed! ;)

Oh, poor Sprout and poor you! Pumpkin had ear infections a time or two, even with BFing, so it does happen. Not that it's fun, but imagine how many she'd have without it?
Out of tissues with lotion? No good!
Penguin's currently got a nasty cough/cold combo. No ear rubbing, but if it lasts much longer I'm going to be bringing her in. The nights - they are long.
Don't worry so much about the ear tube surgery. It's very, very simple and if it can help avoid all these problems for the future, well worth it!! Too bad babies can't have their adnoids taken out while they're at it....
Yeah, we bottle fed and only had 2 infections so far total for both kids. I think it can be a factor, but not the whole story.
And the ear tubes thing will be okay, it's a pretty minor surgery, but oh how scary for you!
And we don't live without tissues with lotion either. Try Sam's Club.
