Sorry to be so MIA, I've been focusing on driving traffic to the other blog (in an effort to drive traffic to the pay me blog, since eventually that will have an impact on my pay). Full disclosure, I now have a way to track my traffic, and all I can say is this.

1. Someone out there is really obsessed with updates, and it must be one of y'all. (who uses a Mac)
2. We all read each others blogs the same way. We visit one, then click around the links to the rest. Seriously, it cracks me up.
3. The other blog has two regular readers that aren't one of y'all, one from Chicago, and one from Michigan, and I have no idea who they are, but I'm flattered.

I'm going to be doing an actual honest to goodness contest that other place today or tomorrow. Enter, if you win, I promise its good stuff. (it is however a pay it forward contest, so if you do win, we'll have to figure something out)

In other news, Sprout has had diarrhea for like over a week, and I'm getting sick of it. Good news is she went up a size in diapers, so now they cost even more. Fun, huh? Ask me how I figured out she needed a larger size, really, ask me. You're gonna love the answer.

Dr. says it could go on for three weeks (last week they told me two, this week it was three) her diet consists of all Scandinavian approved foods. In other words, she's eating white food. Bananas, rice, potatoes, yogurt, cheese, toast, and anything else low fiber I can find. The only color she's allowed are carrots. I hope she doesn't lose her taste for green beans and broccoli.

I bit the bullet and drove up to the Striderite outlet today.  Driving under or just at the speed limit the entire time (and no being the only one doing such).  Ok, I get it, I should have gone there all along (though seriously, the MooShu's are good shoes, and I think the squeaking helped).  I had gone to Shoe Zoo today, just to try again for sandals (hoping they had the mooshus), and nearly fainted at the thought of her wearing 85 (not kidding, nope, not at all) dollar sandals for the like two weeks her feet will be this size.  Especially considering that most of the snazzy expensive specialty footwear brands only come in whole sizes, and she's a "comfortable" six but a 7 is huge.  

Now, granted, the selection wasn't as cute, no cute orange ones like these.  (going to look at their shoes again since they do a great wide toe box, but waiting for fall shoe purchase) And they certainly weren't as flexible as these, or these. (90 bucks for kids shoes?!?!)  But... They'll more than do.  I managed to walk out with these to wear now in a six and a half, and these, and these both in seven, since I'm sure we'll be there before you know it. 

My only complaint, she really should be in stage 2's, but they stop at some silly small size.  As someone with enormous feet, I feel for her.  No one ever thinks of you, and if they do, its usually ugly.

I'm going to start calling them the magic shoes. Either they are working as intended, or the timing is just right. Either way, Sprout is actively reaching for a single hand to get help walking around the house, and standing up without assistance of a prop. I am thrilled that I may not have to delay start of the new daycare by very much. I'm also enjoying that this means she can wear skirts and dresses more (just in time for the weather to get warmer).

Daycare hasn't minded, and it would seem her new nickname is Squeaker.

Global warming be damned, but this weekend was so awesome.  We went out both days, and had some cool adventures.  Went to Linden Hills and found my new favorite bookstore.  (write-up at that place I get paid for on Monday), we are so going back there a lot.  (part of my attempt to support local as much as possible)

We tried out the new Sonic in town, and I relived a little bit of my childhood trips to KS to visit Grandma.  (Cherry Limeade so worth it)

Today we went to Mickey's for breakfast, home for lunch and a nap, then out to buy shoes to try to convince Sprout to walk (and to protect toes when practicing walking - see post at blog connected to that site I get paid for), seriously funny shoes.   Oh, and she has enormous feet, but given her height, that shouldn't be a surprise. 

Also talked Ajd into getting new glasses since he's had the current pair for FIVE years.  They are uber cool, y'all are just gonna have to see them. 

Best part though, hanging in the back yard.

After posting to the void for like a week, I'm supposed to go live on Friday.  I'll send out the email when I know its for sure. 

I found out some more stuff, guest posters have to be child development specialists, and local.  However, I think Ms. Huis even though she isn't local, could help me get the local angle on a slight fudge.  And I may have to interview akj about theater for the younger set.  Anyone else may not be able to guest per say, but I will definitely want your input on things to do, since your munchkins are are older than mine.  And no one needs to know who you are to do that. 

Other than that, when it goes live, tell people about it if you feel like it, because traffic is good.  

So, cross your fingers the techies get it right.

So, you may have heard, I got the job. She loved my samples, but we'll see what they think now that I had to spit out 20 articles in like six days. I have to post articles, but the site isn't ready for public comsumption yet, so I'll email it out when it is live.

Keeping up with things to do is not easy, so I'm trying to do something each weekend day. This last weekend it was the library, and butterflies at como zoo. I'm tired, so I thought I would have a nice week of work to recover.

Yeah, that was until I hit a deer with my car this morning heading home from dropping off the Sprout at daycare. Dinner plate sized dent, and now in the shop for three days (getting that accident from last summer fixed at the same time)

Also found out this morning that we should be able to get Sprout into a new daycare. However, she's behind where they have the kids in their center, so we need to do some catchup to get her in, since she would be in the toddler room. She needs to be walking (we're so close, and we have a month), feeding herself (as long as she doesn't need to use a spoon, we're good, otherwise we need to work on our aim a little) and drinking from an open cup (crap! We barely have mastered sippys, this should be fun, and really messy)

I knew our current center was pretty lazy about developmental milestones, but this kind of drives it home. Current center doesn't work on stuff, they just complain to me about where she's at, nevermind she spends more time with them than with me. The other center works with the kids on stuff, sets goals, etc. This would be why we are switching. I'm about to consider taking some time off from work to work with her on getting ready because I don't think current center will be any help.

So, that's it. Email will go out with info on new job soon, and in the meantime, I'll be busy working on some motor skills development and writing my ass off.

Obama to self: Well, fuck. 

Obama:  Thank you Ms. Clinton, that was wonderful.  You are so special.  I really hope you go one to do lots of special things. 

Hil: Checkers!
