Keeping up

Sunday, 27 July 2008

The writing has been rough lately, but I promise, I'll post again soon.  In the mean time, I give you cuteness.  And the ripoff that is trying to find a swimsuit at the end of the year because she OUTGREW the one you bought at the beginning of summer.  Thank god I spend a lot at that nautical store and had some bucks back... (full swimsuit pics on flickr, follow the photo.  Trying something new)

New hair

Monday, 21 July 2008

I have new hair posted on other site. I'd cross post, but that's such a hassle.

Fine, over, you missed it.

Yes, I have two blogs...

So, I've been holding out on this, but I can't do it any longer. The urge to do what I am told I shouldn't be doing is just too strong.

Last weekend saw the in-laws.  Had previously told MIL about my blogging gig, and how cool it was.  She goes into long rant about how she doesn't understand how anyone could say something bad about someone else in a blog, for the whole Internet to see, and it just wasn't appropriate.

Yeah, so talking about people behind their back, in a low whisper voice, like that makes it OK, is any better?

I may have snapped at her that I think expressing yourself online can have benefits (I was thinking of IF blogs I've read, people who are dealing with major issues in their lives), but that I didn't do that, I saw how it could be helpful.  That seemed to end things... and not in a nice happy way.

So, since it was eating at me a bunch, since I just had to know if maybe she'd seen my blog and seen that I expressed some frustration at her materialism, I asked her if she had started using the internet.  Since she had previously said that she refused to use it.

Nope, still not using the Interwebs.  Still refuses.

Huh.  Yeah, you know a lot about what blogs are and what people do on them.  And you never so much as gossip, nope, not at all.

A very special thanks

To Syl and Ms. Huis, who gave me great stuff to help me write my airport article for Savvy.  I could not have done it without them.

Watch the site tomorrow, I turned an REM song into a preschool activity.
