Sorry about the test

Troubleshooting an internet issue, that I thought was Comcast being asses, and turned out to be faulty hardware.  I was trying to upload a new video to Flickr, for my mom.

Weekend before last we went to the LARK toy store in Kellog, including a stop in Red Wing that didn't involve the in-laws.  We went to one of the parks ajd played in when he was a kid and lamented the loss of some of his favorite equipment.  The video is from her first solo down a really really big slide that doesn't nearly have the safety features of newer ones.  It was fun.

The LARK toy store, not worth the drive unless you really have a thing for carousels.  You can get anything they have there at one of the many local specialty/green toy stores.

For Pusher

Sunday, 19 October 2008

Sprout already loved cheese, but she ate some super super smelly very strong blue cheese and all I could think of was how proud Pusher would be of her.

Oh, and how much I wasn't looking forward to sharing my cheese with someone else.

Wow, long time...

Sorry, I've been busy with the writing.  Going through another down period, and I've been on call for work.  Ugh.

Sprout's Dr. apt was great, I started doubting the height measurement after holding up a pattern I wanted to make for her and it seemed long, so I measure again.  I think she's more like 34 3/4, not nearly three feet tall.  Still tall, just not quite so bad.  She get all skinny again with the last growth spurt, so some pants are now too loose, and others too short.

Syl's great advice on the JCP sale was heeded, and I got some more onesies that should hopefully (cross your fingers) fit through some of the cold weather.  I also got more of my favorite sweats for her.

I finished the blanket I gave away, and one I made for Sprout months ago that I finally weaved the ends on, I'll post a picture, but so far all that has been said about it is that it is bright.  I'm not sure what I'll start next, either a poncho for my favorite niece for Christmas, or something for the next baby on the way.  Still waiting on a gender on that one though (hint hint).   I also have a pattern over overalls for M that I think I'll try to get done sometime in the next few weeks.

Other than that, just keeping up with all of my writing commitments, and bracing myself for the fun that is holidays with family.  (score thus far drama 2 - me - 0 - One drama for each side of the family)

Cross posting because...

My favorite Indian restaurant is closing. Bombay 2 Deli in Northeast is closing. I haven't gone enough, I haven't eaten enough. I feel so bad about that. (though the owner swears it isn't for lack of business, it is more about the time they've had to put in and wanting to change their hours)

However, it is not all bad. After a few months off, they are opening downtown. Not that far away from where I work. I hear this upcoming Wednesday is their last day, so get your fix in fast. But come January they will be in the neighborhood of Kierans downtown. So close to me, I may eat there every day. Mmm... samosa chaat.

It just isn't fair

Saturday, 27 September 2008

I'm 31, I have black hair, and I have this much gray.

It just isn't fair.  and I've been in denial, but that picture proves it...

And ooo, cute kid picking apples too!  Just look at the cute kid, not the gray.

If they only came in my size.

They call it Steph. For some odd reason, I see that as fitting.
