So um...

Yeah, so this is about Sprout's daycare.  This is about the teacher that up until when she was fired was the lead teacher in her room.

Right now, I'll be damned if I can tell who is telling the truth.

She's thrived there in a way that wasn't happening at her old center.  Lauren was far from perfect, she missed giving Sprout medication and then didn't do anything more than give us a note on her card, never called, never told us.  It required following up with the director that night to get the full story.

I'm pissed that the Strib ran the story, honestly.  I don't feel it was well researched.  I feel that the real victims are us as the parents who are not being questions for putting our kids in daycare, and OMG how could we be so stupid to keep our kids at such a negligent place.  Not to mention the fighting back and forth between employees in the comments.

Switching daycare on Sprout wouldn't necessarily be good either, but I'm sort of stuck about how to handle the whole thing.

Sucky Sucky!

Sauced, the awesome neighborhood but super amazing restaurant in my hood, that got great views int he Strib and City pages, and that we never went to enough's last day is tomorrow.

We didn't go enough, but like everyone we were trying to eat out less.

I'm horribly sad about it, since he mortgaged his house to open the place, and it is now in foreclosure. They are looking for investors, but I know how hard that is.

So, if you don't have Valentine's Day plans tonight, consider going there. The food will be worth it, I swear. You may just help the owner (and wife, two kids 2 and 10 months) maybe go out on a good note.

So I posted about it at the other blog, but there are no faces there.  I have yet to get a really good photo of it that includes her face, but if you want, check out the latest on Flickr.  (including her eating a fresh spring roll?!)

Oh, heck, couldn't resist.  (the kid loves lettuce)  For the record, I had nothing to do with the black eye.  Some little shit in her class wanted a toy she had and pinched her hard right under the eye.   And so it begins again.  She's back in class with the terror twins and at least one other little bully.  I'm still not sure how I want to react, but I'm a bit concerned because a little higher and that could have been bad bad bad.

This one is for Syl

So much can change in a year...

Friday, 19 December 2008

Well, more like 11 months.

Hrm, you would think I was busy or something.

Monday, 8 December 2008

I guess this has just turned into a place to post stuff I can't post to the other place...

Like pictures of my child screaming at the mere thought of sitting in a stranger's lap. Scream-ing. I do believe we've hit some stranger anxiety...

Huge kudos to daycare for bringing the very very nice Santa in.  Definitely a pro, I almost felt a little bit of leftover belief in myself.   Maybe next year, right?

Ugh...

Saturday, 1 November 2008

Well, these are our only Halloween pictures, since we had a major blowout in her costume, down to the too cute socks, right after arriving for our surprise.  Which turned out to be not nearly as much fun as we had hope for.

We have reached our parental quota for perhaps the next two months.

But, here we are, bee and bee keeper, from my work.

Or not so much, seems blogger is being evil.  Will post to flickr instead.
